DR Horton recently started building homes in the High Point Community just south of Denver International Airport. The homes are part of DR Horton’s Express Homes which is a collection built specifically with the first time homebuyer in mind. The builder’s goal with Express Homes is to build a home that offers quality at an affordable price.
The High Point community is the a perfect place for airline and airport employees to call home, with it’s close proximity to DIA. In fact no other community is closer to the Denver airport. The community is so new that at this point that residents must head south to Green Valley Ranch for shopping and dining. But there are a lot of plans for future development surrounding the High Point neighborhood. In fact, visitors to the neighborhood can’t miss the huge construction project of the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center (Colorado’s largest conference resort) just east of the DR Horton community. The Gaylord is a huge 1,500 room hotel and conference center (with year round water park) currently under construction and estimated to be completed in early 2018. In no time at all, the High Point community will be surrounded with restaurants and shopping. In fact there is plenty of expansion expected in the surrounding area including huge warehouse facilities by both Walmart and Amazon. With all the land available in the area I would expect to see more housing communities to pop up as well to the east of High Point.
DR Horton offers six floor plans in their Express Homes collection at High Point, including two ranch plans. Base prices range in the high 200’s to the mid 300’s. And homes are selling in this community like crazy. So, if you are interested in High Point, don’t delay. They currently have several inventory homes available for sale. And to build from start to finish is taking about eight to ten months at this point in time.
What impressed me with these homes is the master suites. Many homes built with the first time homebuyer in mind don’t have large master suites. The master suites in these homes are quite large and luxurious with sizable master baths and generous walk in closets.

HOA dues at High Point are $25 monthly and includes the community pool and trash pickup. High Point is also part of the Aurora High Point at DIA Metro District. Fees to the metro district are an additional 26.50 monthly and cover the common area maintenance.
